VLADIMIR CHERNOV MUSIC LIVES! The MJC Recital Series In this sixth Music Lives! recital series collaboration between the Gallo Center and the Modesto Junior College Music Department, the brilliant Russian baritone Vladimir Chernov will perform a selection from some of the 40 leading roles he has sung over his career. A professor of vocal studies at UCLA since 2006, Mr. Chernov has appeared at many of the many of the most prestigious opera houses in the world: Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, La Scala, Teatro Colon, Paris Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera and Vienna State Opera, performing with many of today's great conductors, including James Levine and Seiji Ozawa.
