Steam House Coffee Co., a Victorian Steam Punk Café, soon to be situated in Modesto, is hosting the region’s first annual Steam House Coffee Co. Independent Film and Artistic Achievement Awards Ceremony, an evening recognizing and honoring the work of artists and filmmakers whose focus is on the counter/geek culture. Attendees will be greeted by a red carpet which will usher them into the Art Deco-inspired, historic State Theatre, where photo opportunities await, along with noted special guests and a Hollywood-style ceremony befitting the men and women working in this new and innovative realm. The ceremony at The State follows Steam House Con, being held Fri. and Sat. Oct. 2 and 3, at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock. The event includes panel discussions, celebrity guests, vendors, gaming tournaments, all of which kick off with a gala Masquerade Ball the night of Fri.
