Presented by Datapath and Center for Human Services, Lemonade Day Modesto is a free, city-wide educational program and event that teaches youth the entrepreneurial skills necessary to start, own, and operate their own business—a lemonade stand. Through the provided educational materials and community workshops, youth learn about how to start a business, but just as important, learn valuable life skills, such as leadership, collaboration, responsibility, and teamwork. Youth learn to set a goal, make a plan, and work their plan to achieve their dreams. In the process, they experience a new level of confidence, and some for the first time, see new possibilities for their future. After registering and completing educational materials, youth participants bring their stand and lemonade to sell at Lemonopolis – a city block in Downtown Modesto where our community comes to buy lemonade and support our young entrepreneurs.
