Bright & Rooted Preschool & Childcare provides a warm, nurturing environment for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our Seedlings classroom serves infants and young toddlers. We work in partnership with families and provide responsive care that supports each child’s safety, relationships, and development.

Position Summary

The Infant Caregiver / Teacher provides attentive, respectful care for infants and young toddlers. This person responds to each child’s individual cues and needs, supports development through caregiving routines and age-appropriate experiences, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, responsive care and build secure, trusting relationships with children.

• Follow each child’s feeding, diapering, sleep, and care plan, including family instructions and classroom procedures.

• Hold, comfort, and soothe infants; respond promptly to cries, gestures, sounds, and other cues.

• Prepare and serve bottles, meals, and snacks according to the child’s plan and center procedures.

• Change diapers and assist with hygiene while protecting each child’s dignity and comfort.

• Follow safe-sleep procedures and complete required sleep checks and documentation.

• Maintain active supervision and follow the infant classroom’s staffing ratios at all times.

• Plan and provide age-appropriate experiences that support movement, sensory exploration, language, and social-emotional development.

• Keep the classroom, toys, and equipment clean, sanitized, and arranged for safe infant care.

• Record children’s meals, bottles, diapering, sleep, activities, and other required observations accurately
