Doors at 6; show at 7 p.m. Everyone who’s anyone knows Uncle Lonny. In fact, he may be your “Uncle” too! So all the more reason to come and celebrate his birthday with live music and an evening of relaxed good times ~ Lonny-style. He selected the music which includes the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tribute band Tribe of The Red Horse, plus The Milk House Boys. Tribe of The Red Horse delivers the guitar tone, harmonies and raw energy that Neil Young and Crazy Horse are known and loved for. Or, as the band’s singer/guitarist, Wayne Whitzell puts it, “We don’t play dress-up. We play rock ’n’ roll.” Since forming in the summer of 2011, Tribe of the Red Horse has performed throughout Northern California at well-known venues such as the Sacramento Music Festival, Miner’s Foundry, Sutter Creek Theater, Marilyn’s on K in Sacramento, all the while steadily growing a fan base that Whitzell says appeals to both boomers and 20-somethings who have also discovered Neil Young’s music. No need to bring presents but do wear your party hat and plan to have a good time at this benefit for Hope Haven West, a nonprofit dedicated to providing mobility to the disabled poor. Hope Haven volunteers collect used and discarded wheelchairs that are refurbished and distributed to disabled children and adults in developing countries. GA tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
