| In this exuberant Mother’s Day ballet folklorico celebration, the Calidanza dance company presents Vivan Festejos!, a window to Mexican culture that weaves through time, across regions, and around the calendar. Scenes of national tradition such as Carnaval en Sinaloa combine banda music with skillful dances that celebrate the Sinaloa lifestyle. Add playful dances of Michoacán (including los viejitos), skilled zapateado footwork from Veracruz and the majesty of the whirl-winded skirtwork of Jalisco, and this is a show not to be missed! | |
