Center Stage Conservatory presents a special event, a children's play, "Lions of Illyria" by Robert Kauzlaric, based on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night.” THE STORY: In this comedy about love and mistaken identity, the characters are animals as well as their Shakespearean types—a lion and lioness brother and sister, a gazelle noblewoman, a peacock nobleman, a warthog knight, a monkey pirate, a dodo knight, and a hyena maid. The play will appeal to children 4-10 and their families. Performances are at CSC's intimate Lower Level Studio, making this event a one-of-a-kind theater experience for youngsters. "Lions in Illyria" is directed by Dawn Trook and acted by regulars to the Modesto stage, James Kusy, Joshua Palafox, Marlene Arellano, and Lara Dirks.
