The Modesto Junior College Theater Department presents the dark comedy-drama August: Osage County on December 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Little Theatre of the Performing Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. What do you get when you mix a drunkard father, a pill popping mother, and a family that is ripping apart at the seams? You get Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize winning play August: Osage County. The play follows an estranged family and what happens when they are brought back together under the worst of circumstances. The play is wildly entertaining and will leave you laughing, crying and wondering. The cast includes Jim Johnson as Beverley Weston; Dyanne Durr as Violet Weston; Melissa Dawn as Barbara Fordham; Erin Isaacs as Ivy Weston; Marilyn Diaz as Karen Weston; Austin Shockey as Bill Fordham; Elaine Saculla as Mattie Fae; Harry Stoner as Charles; Noah Thompson as Little Charles; Jasmine Soria as Jean Fordham; Nathan Stiles as Sheriff ; Micaela Guerrero as Johnna, and Michael Barrow as Steve. The play is directed by MJC Professor of Theater Arts Lynette Borrelli-Glidewell. Costumes will be designed by Anne Shanto and Ty Helton will provide set and lighting design for the production.
