DESCRIPTION:The November Writer's Studio will be with slam poet Chad Sokolovsky! He's joining us from Berekley to hit us with some spoken word art and to talk about his new book of poetry\, Prophecy Mechanic.\n\n			\n\n			The Writer's Studio is a reading series hosted by Dana Koster and Tri-Chromatic Gallery that explores not only the art of writing but the process\, from inspiration to publication. Each reading focuses on one writer and begins with a short interview to locate the audience in the author's work and life.\n\n			\n\n			Doors open at 7:00 for wine and snacks and mingling. Q&A/reading starts at 7:20 with a book signing to take place at the end. The Writer's Studio is perfect for non-writers\, new writers and seasoned writers alike! Come be inspired by the art of writing and the incredible gallery space.\n\n			\n\n			Chad Sokolovsky is a Bay Area native and graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to attending UC Berkeley\, he went to Modesto Junior College where he was a fixture at SLaM on RyE\, Modesto's monthly poetry slam. While competing there\, he won a spot on Modesto's first poetry slam team and competed nationally. He also represented Modesto at The ILL LIST poetry slam as a solo performer as well as part of a two-man slam team known as Comma Sutra.\n\n			\n\n			His poetry has appeared in Song of the San Joaquin\, Penumbra\, Quercus Review\, More Than Soil\, More Than Sky: The Modesto Poets\, among others and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He currently works as a commodity food buyer and serves as an advisor for the CA department of Agriculture's Organic Product Advisory Committee. He continues to write\, publish\, and perform his poetry.
