An artistic initiative funded by The James Irvine Foundation\, Opera Remix was developed in response to increasing data collected by major research institutions on the decline of public engagement with arts institutions in the U.S. With significant evidence showing a dramatic increase in engagement in the arts\, but a dramatic decrease in attendance at the events of arts institutions\, particularly among younger generations\, the Opera RemixInitiative experiments with how the traditional art form of opera can engage with an evolving American culture.
