As everyone who’s ever spent a Summer in the Central Valley knows, the B93 Big Summer Show is as big a deal when the weather warms up in Modesto as swimming pools, floaties and flip flops! And you won’t want to miss it… Scheduled to appear are MAGIC!, Nick Fradiani, Shawn Hook, High Dive Heart and Genevieve. MAGIC! is a mashup of pop, R&B and reggae. The band’s first song, “Rude,” fell together so naturally, they felt it happened like magic! After signing with Sony Music International, “Rude” became the group’s first single. Nick Fradini was the winner of American Idol Season 14, a day the Guilford, Conn. Native called “the best day of my life.” Canadian Shawn Hook began his musical journey with a sound that was organic, guitar-based and had a relaxed acoustic vibe. His second album, “Analog Love,” released in June 2015, paired his strong falsetto with new electronic-inspired indie pop songs, elements of R&B and soul, with bits of disco peppered throughout. What emerged was breezy, melodic sounds reminiscent of Maroon 5, Fitz & the Tantrums, and even Enrique Iglesias. High Dive Heart is the musical union of multi-platinum songwriter and solo artist Jason Reeves and singer-songwriter Nelly Joy. One collaboration, “More In Love With You,” figured prominently on Jason’s 2013 album “Songs Are Silent Films.” GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban) heard the tune and urged them to make a record together. It’s the second time serendipity stepped in for High Dive Heart. Genevieve is a born singer. Her debut EP, “Show Your Colors,” is a triumphant collection of songs that focus on the power of celebrating one’s true self. The former singer in Company of Thieves, the alt-rock band from Chicago, Genevieve segued into a solo career, and immediately emerged as a beacon of empowerment, and as an independent artist with a singular voice poised to change the musical landscape.
