Apraxia Kids’ Walk For Apraxia®? is the official gathering to raise awareness for and to celebrate individuals with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Apraxia of speech is a severe neurological speech disorder that makes it difficult or impossible for a child to produce the sounds, syllables or words that are necessary for verbal communication to occur. Their brain knows what it wants to say but there is a disconnect between the brain and the muscles of the mouth, lips, tongue and jaw. Walk For Apraxia events raise funds for treatment and research.
